Everyone is Touched

According to the American Cancer Society,an estimated 1.7 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in 2018.

At any given moment, there are 15.5 million living with a history of cancer. While some of these individuals were recently diagnosed, most were diagnosed many years ago and have no evidence of cancer.

Cancer touches everyone at some point, some time.

SOE presents Gentle/Nidra Yoga

Another successful Gentle/Nidra Yoga program.

We had another successful evening of body-mind guided meditation with 18 participants partaking healing experience. Thank you, Cindi Ballard for leading last nights activity.

Please check back soon for more activities in the near future.

SOE and Cindi Ballard partner for on-line Gentle/Nidra Yoga on March 24th

Cindi Ballard has graciously volunteered to a repeat performance of last year’s on-line Nidra Yoga class via Zoom. The class will be held on Wednesday, March 24th at 8 p.m. EST. This class is free of charge and open to anyone who could benefit from this wonderful healing, meditative activity.

For those who aren’t familiar with yoga nidra, it is referred to as a body-mind guided meditative that helps relieve stress and anxiety. Perfect for these challenging times! If you interested, we will be posting directions later on Facebook and can send through email as well.

Zoom offers free accounts, but you will need to have the app or computer availability.

This class is open to all friends and family of SOE – please feel free to invite all and any folks who could benefit from this wonderful opportunity!

Namaste.

UPMC Headways article Features SOE Executive Director

Since 2007, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has been publishing a micro-magazine called Headway. The magazine is directed towards news on advances in the prevention, detection, and treatment of head and neck cancers. Part educational, part informative and part inspirational. I was asked to contribute my ‘Becoming a Survivor’ story. I am honored to be featured on page two in the Summer 2020 publication.
